Call for Applications: POLIN Museum Workshop
POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews – through the Global Education Outreach Program – invites individuals and institutions to propose three-day research workshops to be held at POLIN Museum on topics related to the history and culture of Polish Jews, including new perspectives on public history, museums, and cultural memory. We especially encourage interdisciplinary and comparative approaches.

Important activities of POLIN Museum are related to Jewish art and architecture. We would like to devote one of our 2019 GEOP workshops to the issues involving Jewish art and architecture in various contexts (eg. History of Art, Museum Studies, History of Architecture, Performance Studies). Therefore, we especially encourage researchers and museum professionals working on the subject to submit their proposals.

The framework of the event should be that of a research workshop, allowing ample time for discussion and dynamic exchange of ideas between participants. The workshop should also include one event open to the general public and / or other form of contribution to the Museum’s activity.

We are particularly interested in projects based on international cooperation. One Polish partner in addition to POLIN Museum is required.

Applicants may request up to $7000 to cover the cost of accommodation and catering. We also provide venues and organizational support before and during the event. The limit of the Museum contribution is fifty percent of the total cost of the workshop.

In order to be considered for funding in 2019, please submit the completed application form (available here) to workshops.geop@polin.pl no later than 30 June 2018.

Letters from institutional partners, describing the extent of cooperation, should be submitted no later than 30 June 2018.

Decisions will be announced by 30 September 2018.
