Call for MSA First Book Award 2025
The submission deadline is December 30th, 2024.
The Memory Studies Association (MSA) invites nominations for the 2025 MSA ‘First Book Award’.
We will consider any FIRST book published in 2023 and 2024 in ANY language (edited volumes will not be considered). Nominations will be accepted from MSA members, nominating the book of another MSA member OR of a non-member. Self-nomination is also possible, but only from MSA members. Nominator must inform nominees.
Submissions will be assessed by a jury, composed of members of the MSA Advisory Board and experts in the field.
The winner will be announced by the end of March 2025. If you are interested, please fill out this form no later than December 30th, 2024.
Nominations should be accompanied by an English summary (2500 words) which should be prepared by the nominated author: describing a) the arguments/claims of the book; b) the structure and length of the book; c) the methodological and theoretical background of the study; d) the objects of the study; e) conclusions and outcomes.
The submission deadline is December 30th, 2024.
Submissions must be sent as PDFs (hard copies can be sent on a complementary basis).
The winner will receive $1000.
In addition, the winner will be able to showcase their work in an “Author Meets Critics” session at the MSA conference in Prague in 2025.
MSA will also cover: MSA Membership for one year and conference registration fees.
